Leadership Team

The GCS teaching team has a shared vision of being the most respected provider of education in the region. They embrace a mindset of collegiality, in which they acknowledge and use each other’s strengths to enable goals to be accomplished. In addition, our students’ academic success and social growth is of paramount importance. The pedagogical team is assisted by an enthusiastic administrative and facilities team.

The staff is comprised of talented and highly experienced teachers, which hail from over 60 different countries, with British nationals in the majority. To ensure innovative and 21st century learning, we create global professional development opportunities for our teaching faculty.

ANDREW WOODPrincipal
Andrew is an experienced international school head with experience both of the UK and International Baccalaureate (IB) curricula. He read for a BA (Hons.) and an HDE at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, majoring in English and Geography and also holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in School Leadership from Henley College. Prior to joining GCS he was the Principal of the International School of Hout Bay, where he took the school through its IB authorization process leading the young school to produce Diploma Programme results that were above the world average.
JAMIE PLUNKETTDeputy Head of Primary
Jamie started his career in Education in 2007, having completed his PGCE in Information Technology at the University of Brighton, UK, followed by an ICT teacher position in the South East of Englan. In 2012 he joined GCS in the Secondary School as a teacher of MYP Computer Technology and DP Information Technology. In 2012, he became one of the first Grade Level Coordinators at GCS, responsible for the safety and wellbeing of the Grade 7 students for the academic year 2012 to 13. In 2015, Jamie was appointed as the Deputy Head of the Primary School.
GARY MALLONHead of Primary
Gary has a wealth of international educational experience spanning the UK, Middle East and South America. After graduating from The University of Birmingham with a BA (Hons.) and a Postgraduate qualification in Education, he began his teaching career in 1998 as a Primary School in the UK. In 2001 Gary joined the HRH Sheikh Rashid School for Boys in Dubai, followed by a move to South America in 2005 to work at the British School of Caracas and The Grange School in Santiago. In 2013 Gary returned to Dubai to join Greenfield Community School.
SINEAD KEHOEDeputy Head of Secondary
Sinead completed her primary degree at The University College Dublin, where she studied Geography, History and Archaeology. Having taken her PGCE at Aberystwyth University in Wales, she began teaching in the UK. Motivated by the environmental elements of the British curriculum for senior students, she returned to Ireland to complete a Masters of Science in Environmental Sciences at Trinity College Dublin. She joined Greenfield Community School in 2012 as Head of the Humanities Department. She has experience teaching across four curricula but is most enthused by the inquiry, reflection and overall well-rounded nature of the IB curriculum.
NEIL BUNTINGHead of Secondary
Neil Bunting has worked in education for 26 years and is an experienced international school leader with expertise in setting up new school ventures and leading successful school change in Indonesia, Oman and Saudi Arabia. Neil is a passionate believer in the values and philosophy of the International Baccalaureate programmes.
